There’s already a food thread here, but I was composing this list to an out-of-town visitor and thought I would keep it here handy for Denver food n00bs:

Best pork chili verde in Denver (make sure to order the hot–since it’s made with a new batch every day the heat varies widely, and you don’t want to get a dud):

There are also 2 Brewery Bars out here in the burbs and they are not nearly as much of a dive as the original (they tend to be not quite as spicy tho):

There are also 2 Rio Grande restaurants which are quite good and they have a slightly-less-flavorful-but-just-as-hot green chili, one of them is downtown on Blake St, between 15th and 16th streets …. the other is in Park Meadows quite close to Brewery Bar III.

All of the above feature high-end tequilas and good Margaritas–order the “Agave Martini” from Rio Grande or just specify your tequila type if at BB.

Right across the street from the downtown Rio Grande, there’s one of my
all-time favorite restaurants called 8 Rivers. Order the Jerk Chicken
Pasta….and a Planter’s Punch (or Mojito - either one is served in a freakin tumbler).

Best in town is right down here on Arapahoe, and is called Sahara.
They do Lebanese/Morroccan (really, it’s pan-Mediterranean)–husband and wife, one of whom is from Lebanon and the other Morocco, hi!
Order the Spicy Chicken….and make sure to get one of the appetizers that features their Babaganouj and the grape leaves.
